Two games on Tuesday: Bad Königshofen at Bergneustadt, Grenzau at Saarbrücken
It goes blow by blow in the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL): Only two days after the completion of the 20th matchday, the 21st matchday continues tomorrow, Tuesday. Then the 1st FC Saarbrücken TT receives the TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau, while the TSV Bad Königshofen is a guest at the TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt.
1.FC Saarbrücken TT - TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau
Since yesterday's Sunday and the 3:0 in Bad Königshofen, the 1st FC Saarbrücken TT is back on the second place of the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) - and of course wants to defend it until the end of the main round. Then the FCS would have the home right in a possible third play-off game. It has not yet been decided who the reigning runners-up will face in the semifinals: either Ochsenhausen or Mühlhausen. However, the Saarbrücken team should be warned against the upcoming opponent. TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau has won three times in a row, has already recorded six victories in the second round and won the first leg 3:1. On Tuesday, however, the guests will not be able to play with their best players: "The two match postponements have an impact on our squad," says TTC manager Markus Ströher in view of the clash of dates with the WTT Champions Tournament in Xingxiang, which was scheduled at short notice. "As a result, we will not be able to play with our best line-up in both matches. In principle, we have to be glad that these matches are no longer decisive for the relegation fight in the end."
TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt - TSV Bad Königshofen
Last weekend, TSV Bad Königshofen was still hoping to make it into the play-offs for the first time, but the recent 3-0 defeat to Saarbrücken has shattered that dream. The current fourth in the table, Post SV Mühlhausen, is now out of reach with a four-point lead and a much better match ratio. In the remaining two games - Bad Königshofen will then host Mühlhausen on the last matchday - the team from Lower Franconia still has a chance to finish fifth and thus achieve the best ranking in the club's history. TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt can only reach eighth place if the remaining matches go well. With 14:26 points, Benedikt Duda and Co. are still in tenth place; yesterday, Sunday, they lost 0:3 against Mühlhausen.
