TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell succeeds in a transfer coup!
TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell has pulled off a real transfer coup with the signing of Taiwanese international Chuang Chih-Yuan for the second half of the season. The 2013 doubles world champion will join the East Hessians for the second half of the 2023/24 season and, together with current top player Wong Chun Ting, will ensure that the TTC gets back on the road to success.
Chuang is no stranger to Germany's top division. He has played for TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and SV Werder Bremen, with whom he won the German championship in the 2012/2013 season. During his years in Germany, he was always one of the best players in the league.
He has already taken part in a total of 17 world championships. He celebrated his greatest success in 2013 alongside Chen Chien-An, with whom he defeated the Chinese doubles team of Hao Shuai and Ma Lin in the final to win Taiwan's first ever World Championship title. Chuang is currently ranked 38th in the world. His next big goal is the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Reinforcement with international experience
"This new addition has made us significantly stronger in singles and doubles," says Head Coach Qing Yu Meng. "He brings a lot of international experience with him and also knows the Bundesliga very well. The whole team can benefit from that."
"We will be presenting our sponsors and fans with another top international star for the second half of the season. Chuang is known for his athletic and uncompromising attacking play. Like Wong, he is also a great doubles player," says President Stefan Frauenholz.
