TTBL statistics for the first half of the season 2023/2024
Between the first and second half of the season, the evaluation of the first half of the season has once again provided all kinds of data. We present some of the most interesting findings.
Series winner
Europe Top 16 Cup winner Darko Jorgic from runners-up 1. FC Saarbrücken TT delivered the longest winning streak of all 56 players in the first half of the season. The Slovenian won nine singles matches in a row from the start of the season in August until his first defeat of the season on the third Advent. European Championship singles champion Dang Qiu and European team champion Anton Källberg (both Borussia Düsseldorf) as well as Li Yongyin (1. FSV Mainz 05) each recorded seven consecutive victories over the course of the first half of the season.
Black series
Rare Sipos (Mainz) and Filip Zeljko (TSV Bad Königshofen) had the longest dry spells of the first half of the season. Both went eight matches in a row without a win. Sipos did not manage any success at all, while Zeljko won two of his eleven matches.
White vest
Dang Qiu was the only TTBL pro to remain unbeaten in more than one match in the upper house. The Penholder ace only dropped two sets in his seven matches.
Diligence cards
Bastian Steger (Bad Königshofen), of all people, became the most prolific player in the upper house in the first half of the season. The former champion played 15 singles matches and only lost one in three of them. Benedikt Duda (TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt) and Mattias Falck (Werder Bremen) also achieved ten victories in 14 matches each.
Dominance
Benedikt Duda celebrated the most 3-0 victories in the first half of the season. The national player did not concede a single set to his opponents in seven of his ten victories. Only Källberg was similarly dominant, scoring six times without losing a set.
Points suppliers
The counterpart to Duda is Alvaro Robles (TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen). The Spaniard had to concede the most matches without winning a set with five 0:3 defeats. Carlo Rossi and Luka Mladenovic from Mainz lost four times in three straight sets.
Resistance
Werder Bremen did not reach third place in the first round table by chance. The Hanseatic side was the only team in the league to win four games without losing a match. Defending champions Düsseldorf, for example, celebrated only three successes with a clean slate, as did Ochsenhausen and Bergneustadt.
