TTBL on Dyn in future: S Nation has a new name

Dyn - this is the brand name under which the new streaming platform for sports beyond football will be launched on 1 July 2023. The Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) will also be included.

The joint venture of Axel Springer and Christian Seifert, which previously operated under the name S Nation Media, will be called Dyn Media in future. The new company has already signed media contracts with the Liqui Moly Handball Bundesliga, the easycredit Basketball Bundesliga, the Volleyball Bundesliga VBL and the Table Tennis Bundesliga TTBL for several seasons from 2023.

Dyn - pronounced "Dein" - stands for the power of sport, derived from the first internationally binding physical unit for force in 1873. It was not until 1978 that Dyn was replaced by the SI unit Newton. "The name Dyn fits well with our mission and our values," says Andreas Heyden, CEO of Dyn. "Strength is a basic element of sport: people need muscular strength to perform at their best. In addition, it takes the power of community to achieve sporting goals, and it takes imagination to shape the future from a new idea."

TTBL live on Dyn from the 2023/24 season.

The name also stands for the spirit of the team behind Dyn, Heyden added: "Our employees will invest all their energy to ensure that our partner leagues away from professional football in Germany get the status they deserve." The design of the Dyn logo, like the name itself, follows sporting analogies: many playing fields are defined by a system of lines - for example with goal lines, sidelines, free-throw lines, goal lines. The Dyn logo takes up the line idea and combines them side by side to form a dynamic track.

The change of name will take effect on 15 October this year. The company website www.dynmedia.com will be activated on this date. The website for future customers will be www.dyn.sport.

S Nation has held the media rights to the TTBL in cooperation with Spontent since the beginning of the current season. Currently, all matches are broadcast on Spontent's channels on Twitch. From the 2023/24 season, all matches will be broadcast on Dyn.
