Transfer news: TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt signs Kanak Jha

The Bundesliga table tennis club TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt has signed Kanak Jha with effect from 1 January 2024.

Only 23 years old, Kanak Jha took part in the 2016 & 2021 Olympic Games and won his first of four national men's singles titles in the USA at the age of 17. He reached the quarter-finals at the 2021 World Singles Championships, where only Timo Boll could stop him, and was still ranked number 19 in the world at the beginning of this year. In the German Table Tennis League (TTBL), he impressed with an unblemished record of 9 wins and remained unbeaten until the end of the first series of the 2022/2023 season.

TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt is looking forward to Kanak Jha. "We are delighted to have signed Kanak as a high-calibre addition to our team," says sports manager Heinz Duda. Those responsible at the TTC are certain that he will very quickly prove his world-class level with his talent and ambition. They expect Kanak to give the team a positive boost not only because of his playing strength, but also because of his personality, which will make him a great asset to the club.
