Transfer coup perfect: Shunsuke Togami returns to TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen

Shortly before the end of the transfer window, TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen struck again on the transfer market and landed a coup. Japanese top player Shunsuke Togami will return to TTF next season after a break of just one year. He already wore the kit of the Upper Swabians in the 2022/2023 season, but had to leave the club again due to the pre-Olympic year and some commitments in his Japanese homeland.

And now the spectacular comeback of the 22-year-old, 1.70-metre tall right-hander, which is likely to take the team with Hugo Calderano and Simon Gauzy at the top to another level. The fast and dynamic attacking Togami has been on a steep upward trajectory in recent years. He is currently ranked 20th in the world rankings, making him the second-best player in his country. He has also already been nominated for the Olympic team. He celebrated his greatest successes at the All Japan Championships, when he won the singles title in both 2022 and 2023.

President Kristijan Pejinovic is overjoyed that the transfer is now a done deal: “We are very happy that we were able to find each other again. We are pleased about the mutual trust and the strong commitment on his part to move from Japan to Germany in the Olympic year. This decision was not an easy one for him and I give him a lot of credit for that. The people in and outside the team are looking forward to seeing him again in the TTF jersey. By signing Togami, we are also staying true to our philosophy of not buying players at random, but have re-signed an “OX-Boy” who has been trained with us. I wish him every success in his second season in the TTBL and I am confident that he will set an exclamation mark and give our sporting direction the necessary impetus.”

Shunsuke Togami is also over the moon about his return: “I'm delighted to be back in the team after a year's break and would like to thank Ochsenhausen for their open welcome and support. It has been my dream to play in the Bundesliga since I was little and I believe that the experience and level of play in Germany's top division is a great opportunity for me to develop further.” With regard to his goals, his answer is short and sweet: “Our aim is to fight for the championship and cup titles.”

With the signing of Togami, TTF's personnel planning is now complete.
