Start on January 6: TTBL schedules second-round matchdays for 2022/23 season

The German Table Tennis League (TTBL) has set the schedule for the second half of the 2022/23 season. The starting signal for the second half of the season will be given with the 12th matchday on January 6, 2023, when ASV Grünwettersbach will face Post SV Mühlhausen.

After only 2 weeks of winter break, the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) will start the second half of the season at the beginning of the year. It starts on January 6, 2023 with the match ASV Grünwettersbach against Post SV Mühlhausen.

One day later, TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt will host TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau and TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell will be away at TSV Bad Königshofen. Due to the Liebherr Cup final on January 8, 2023, the remaining three matches of Matchday 12 will not be played until the following Tuesday and Wednesday: The top match will then be between TTC Neu-Ulm, currently in second place, and third-placed 1. FC Saarbrücken TT, who are tied on points (12:6), at least according to today's table constellation. The record champion Borussia Düsseldorf starts the second half of the season away at SV Werder Bremen and the promoted 1. FSV Mainz 05 receives TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen.

Scheduling of the play-offs follows

The TTBL will then continue with the 13th matchday on January 12/13 and 15, 2023, and the 14th matchday with no less than 6 matches on January 22, 2023. The main round will be concluded with the 22nd matchday on April 14, 2023. In total, the clubs of the TTBL will play 66 matches in the second half of the season before the play-offs between the four top-ranked teams and finally the Liebherr TTBL final will take place, in which the German Team Champion 2022/23 will be crowned.

Due to the not yet fixed match calendar of the world federation ITTF for the year 2023, the TTBL has decided to schedule the play-offs at a later date. For the same reason, only the first round was initially scheduled last summer. The schedule was created in cooperation with Ligalytics GmbH from Bad Homburg.

In the second round, too, all TTBL matches will be broadcast online in a live stream on Spontent's channels on the streaming portal Twitch.
