Sam Walker and Luka Mladenovic extend their contracts in Grenzau

TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau has made important personnel decisions for the new season: The Westerwald club has extended the contracts with Samuel Walker and Luka Mladenovic. Alongside Feng Yi-Hsin and Maciej Kubik, who both signed a two-year contract last summer, and Martin Allegro, whose signing has already been announced, they are the fourth and fifth players in the squad for the new season.
“We are very happy that both of them are staying, because they are a lot of fun to work with,” says TTC head coach Slobodan Grujic. “Sam is a great team player, he's strong in doubles and has also scored very important points in singles. He also played very well in the current season until his injury. We need this Sam in our team. He can help the young players a lot with his experience in training and in matches and is a great fit for our team as a person. Luka has also settled in very quickly in Grenzau in his first season. He's also a great guy and a valuable team player who doesn't make it easy for opponents with his special system of play. It's unpleasant to play against him. Luka always fights 100 percent and backs the team, even when he's not playing.”
“Playing for a traditional club like Grenzau makes me proud,” says Sam Walker. “We've been together as a team with Feng and Maciej for a few years now - and I'm sure that together we can do better than what we've achieved so far this season. We showed that the year before, among other things. I would like to help us improve again. Personally, I want to play at the best possible level and Grenzau and the national table tennis league give me the opportunity to do that. I just love the people at this club, the TTC is my home. I really enjoy being here and will give my all for the team's success.”
“I'm extremely happy to be playing in Grenzau for another year,” says Luka Mladenovic. “I had hoped to stay with the TTC beyond the current season and I'm glad that the club has placed its trust in me. I hope that I can help the team with even more wins and that we can celebrate many more important victories as a team. Now it's time to keep at it and work hard for success.”
“Sam stands for continuity and is an absolute team player,” says TTC manager Markus Ströher. “He has already proven on several occasions that he is also valuable in sporting terms. Luka complements the team perfectly with his unorthodox style of play and makes us dangerous. He is constantly developing and we believe in him. He also fits perfectly into our team as a person. I'm delighted that both of them are staying with us.”
