“Oldie” Bastian Steger at TSV Bad Königshofen until 2027
Former national table tennis player Bastian Steger has postponed the end of his career once again. According to the club, the 43-year-old has extended his expiring contract with Bundesliga club TSV Königshofen by two years until 2027. Steger, a two-time European Championship bronze medallist and two-time Olympic bronze medallist with the team alongside his retiring peer Timo Boll, has played for the club from Lower Franconia since 2019.
The Croatian Olympic participant Filip Zeljko, another top performer in recent years, has committed to TSV for another season. Young ace and European Championship round of 16 finalist Andre Bertelsmeier from second division club 1. FC Köln has already been confirmed as a new signing for the coming season. Japanese top player Jin Ueda, on the other hand, will leave Bayern in the summer after two years.
