Ochsenhausen wins its way up to 2nd place

The TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen are climbing up the table of the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) and are the first chaser of champion Borussia Düsseldorf. The team from Baden-Württemberg defeated Post SV Mühlhausen 3:0 in their own hall on matchday 6.

Less than 48 hours after their cup success against TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau, TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen were already back in action in the TTBL. As expected, coach Yong Fu brought in two fresh players compared to Friday, Can Akkuzu and Samuel Kulczycki. Only top player Simon Gauzy trusted Yong Fu again. And the Frenchman did not let his tired legs show. He did not allow TTBL debutant Kim Taehyun to win a set in the opening singles (11:9, 11:4, 11:9). Afterwards Can Akkuzu against Mühlhausen's No. 1 Steffen Mengel and Samuel Kulczycki against Daniel Habesohn made the 3:0 home victory perfect.

Taking a breather on Monday

"I am very happy after this perfect weekend for us and proud of the team's performance," beamed Ochsenhausen coach Yong Fu. "The victory today was very important with a view to the Play-Offs. Now we'll give ourselves a day off tomorrow and then from Tuesday we'll prepare for the upcoming tasks."

Mühlhausen Kim Taehyun, on the other hand, had imagined his debut in the TTBL a little differently. "First of all, I'm happy that I got to play my first match in the Bundesliga today. Of course, it's not easy against Simon Gauzy. He is an absolute world class player. I missed a few chances and at the same time made too many easy mistakes. At this level, it's hard to win a match. That's why I'm disappointed. I will continue to work hard on myself."

One week break in the TTBL

On Saturday, November 26, the TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen will travel to SV Werder Bremen on Matchday 7. Post SV Mühlhausen will also receive ASV Grünwettersbach on Saturday. All matches of the TTBL will be broadcasted live on the channels of Spontent on Twitch.
