Ochsenhausen bids farewell to the winter break with a home win

It was supposed to be the dress rehearsal for the cup semifinal between TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and TTC Neu-Ulm. However, the young guard of the TTC could only offer little resistance to the trio from Ochsenhausen.

In the opening singles between Simon Gauzy and Lev Katsman, the first three rounds were hard-fought. Gauzy finally won 3:1 against the 21-year-old left-hander Katsman (11:9, 8:11, 11:8, 11:5).
Can Akkazu ensured the 2:0 lead from the hosts' point of view with his victory against Maksim Grebnev, who could only secure the third set (13:11, 11:6, 6:11, 11:9).

Shunsuke Togami successful in first home match

After the break, it was Japan's Shunsuke Togami with his clear 3:0 win over Vladimir Sidorenko who secured Ochsenhausen's victory over TTC Neu-Ulm (11:7, 11:6, 11:9). After his first home match, Togami was visibly relieved: "I am happy and played very well today".
At the winter break, Ochsenhausen now sits in third place in the table. The team from Neu-Ulm, is in sixth place.

Neu-Ulm's head coach Dmitrij Mazunov, who was previously still in the service of the TTF, put the defeat into perspective: "We don't have the goal of reaching the play-offs or playing for the championship title. In the Bundesliga, we want to give the young players as much playing practice as possible."

Ochsenhausen's head coach Yong Fu was visibly pleased with the win, "I'm very happy today and happy for our guys, who played great today. Of course Neu-Ulm played with the three young players against us. Nevertheless, I am proud of our guys. Before Christmas, it is again a very important victory for us. We'll now take a week's break and then prepare for the cup game."
