OCHSENHAUSEN CELEBRATES CLEAR VICTORY IN BREMEN

TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen celebrated their second win of the season in the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) at the start of Matchday 4. On Tuesday, the Upper Swabians won 3:0 at SV Werder Bremen and thus moved up to fourth place in the table for the time being.

TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen are slowly getting into their stride in the new season of the German Table Tennis League (TTBL): After suffering two defeats on the first two match days, the four-time German champions celebrated a 3-0 win at SV Werder Bremen on Tuesday evening, their second victory in a row. Two weeks earlier, Ochsenhausen had won 3:1 against Mainz to secure their first win of the season.

"Of course we're disappointed that we lost," said Bremen's coach Cristian Tamas afterwards. "But Ochsenhausen played well and they fought well. It's a defeat, a 0:3 at home - but no more than that."

Akkuzu inflicts Falck's first defeat of the season

Can Akkuzu's opening victory set the tone for Ochsenhausen's success. The Frenchman won 3:1 (13:11, 11:8, 7:11, 11:7) against Mattias Falck, who had only celebrated the European Team Championships with the Swedish national team on Sunday by beating Germany in the final, thus showing the guests the way. For Falck, it was the first defeat of the new TTBL season after four previous victories.

Simon Gauzy's subsequent comeback was just as important for the TTF: Kirill Gerassimenko was already leading 2:0 sets against the 28-year-old, but Gauzy fought back, fended off Gerassimenko's comeback in the deciding set and finally won 3:2 (6:11, 9:11, 11:8, 11:8, 12:10). "Kirill played very, very well. But I fought well," said Gauzy afterwards. "Fortunately, it was enough for me in the end." After the break, Alvaro Robles secured the win for the guests with a 3:0 (11:6, 12:10, 13:11) against Cristian Pletea.

The 4th matchday of the German Table Tennis League will continue next Friday, September 22nd, when ASV Grünwettersbach will host Post SV Mühlhausen at 7 pm. Borussia Düsseldorf (September 23, at TSV Bad Königshofen) and 1. FC Saarbrücken TT (September 25, at TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau) will also be hoping for their fourth win of the season. All TTBL matches will be broadcast live on Dyn.
