New transfer in the German Table Tennis League: Iulian Chirita joins TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen

TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen have announced their second new signing for the coming season. Iulian Chirita, a 19-year-old young talent from French first division club GV Hennebont TT, is moving to the Upper Swabians. The Moldovan-born Romanian, who is currently ranked 96th in the world, is regarded as a great hope for the future of table tennis in Europe.
Chirita is no stranger to the world of table tennis. As a multiple European youth champion and newly crowned Romanian men's champion, he has already proven that he can keep up with the best. At the beginning of the year, he caused a stir with victories over top players such as Kristian Karlsson and Darko Jorgic. His dynamic playing style and ambition fit in with the TTF's philosophy of promoting young talent. Even as a teenager, Chirita was regularly part of the training group at the Liebherr Masters College in Ochsenhausen.
The youngster signed a one-year contract with the option to extend for a further year. “Iulian Chirita is a very talented and promising young man, a player who to a certain extent embodies Romania's hope in table tennis,” said a delighted Kristijan Pejinovic, President of the TTF. “With him and the other youngsters, we want to set the course for a new future and, together with the Liebherr Masters College, continue our project of developing Europe's upcoming talents here in Ochsenhausen.”
