Muramatsu extends - Nuytinck to leave Saarbrücken
1.FC Saarbrücken TT has extended the contract with Japanese defensive specialist Yuto Muramatsu for a further year.
"I'm very happy that I can play for Saarbrücken for at least another year. It was a huge change for me to move from relegation candidates Mainz to a top team like Saarbrücken. I now have the feeling that I've arrived in the team - that's why I'm happy that I can continue to prove myself in Germany," said Muramatsu.
FCS sporting director Erwin Berg is also delighted with the contract extension: "Yuto was injured at the start of the season and then very nervous during the preliminary round because he felt pressure - we assured him that he can play freely and that we trust him and his abilities. I'm sure he'll give us a lot of pleasure in the future"
Another player has made a decision about his future: Our doubles specialist Cedric Nuytinck is leaving us for Dortmund for the new season.
"Cedric has done us a great service with his experience in doubles. With important victories in the cup and also in the Champions League, he had a decisive influence on the 2022/23 season. We wish him every success in Dortmund and are delighted that he will be staying in the TTBL," said Nicolas Barrois, Team Manager.
Nuytinck on his move: "I had a great time in Saarbrücken and the Champions League title was something very special! However, I want to play more games again, hence my decision to make a change.
I will give my all for FCS again this season and try to bring a title or two back to Saarland!"
Two more title decisions await Nuytinck and Co. in the coming months with the Champions League and TTBL.
