Möregardh completes 2024/2025 Champions League squad at 1. FC Saarbrücken TT
Just under two months ago, it was Truls Möregardh who made life difficult for FCS with two individual victories for Neu-Ulm in the CL semi-final - from the new season, the Swede will line up for the reigning Champions League winners and try to win this prestigious title himself for the first time.
Nicolas Barrois, team manager of 1. FC Saarbrücken Table Tennis, is full of anticipation: “We've been in contact with Truls for some time because he's good friends with Darko. When it became clear that the project in Neu-Ulm would no longer be continued, we contacted him directly. Personally, I'm delighted that he chose our club because the spectators will have a lot of fun with his unorthodox but spectacular style of play. What's more, Truls is an absolute top player who will make our already strong team even more dangerous!”
“When FCS approached me, I didn't really think twice because it's a top European club with great players! I'm delighted that after two great years with Neu-Ulm, I'll be able to play for the Champions League title again next season,” said the Swede.
The 22-year-old right-handed player, who sensationally finished runner-up in the 2021 World Championship, has signed a one-season contract with the top club in Saarland, which is only valid in the Champions League.
The rules of the ETTU allow a player to play in the Champions League even if he does not have a license for the respective club in the league.
