The new season of the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) is in the starting blocks. Dyn will continue to show all TTBL matches in the coming season. One match per matchday will also be shown live on the Dyn Table Tennis YouTube channel. The TTBL Cup can be seen on Dyn from the round of 16 onwards and with the participation of a first division team with home court. World Table Tennis (WTT) will also continue to be available on Dyn. Fans can watch the “Grand Smash” competitions, “Champions Series” and “WTT Finals” live. Semi-finals and finals will be commentated in German by the on-air team. A highlight in Germany will be the “WTT Champions Frankfurt” for women and men in the individual competition, which will be held in the Süwag Energie ARENA in Frankfurt from November 3 to 10, 2024. Dyn will show the matches live and on demand.
There is already a highlight for fans before the start of the season: in five short documentaries, Dyn presents youth development projects that are being implemented in the individual sports with the support of Move Your Sport. The exclusive insights into the German Table Tennis League with Move Your Sport ambassador Anett Sattler can now be seen on Dyn Sport.
“Dyn invites you to the table” starts the new season
In the coming season, table tennis will once again play a major role at Dyn beyond the matches. In addition to the popular format “Dyn Plattenupdate”, in which Dennis Heinemann looks back on the most important moments of the past match day and other highlight formats, an interview format will now follow. In “Dyn bittet zu Tisch”, Dennis Heinemann interviews TTBL players. This gives fans exclusive sporting and personal insights. “Dyn bittet zu Tisch” will appear 12 times and last around 15 minutes per issue.
Marcel Wontorra, COO at Dyn: “Having already established in the first season that table tennis is very popular with our viewers, we want to strengthen the coverage between match days in the coming season. Our aim is to make the sport and the players even more tangible and to bring fans closer to the sport. With 'Dyn bittet zu Tisch', we are therefore specifically expanding our existing offering with an interview format in order to get to know the people at the table tennis racket even better.”
New TTBL season starts on August 23
The new TTBL season kicks off on August 23 (7 p.m., broadcast starts at 6:45 p.m.) with the match between SV Werder Bremen and BV Borussia Dortmund. It is a special highlight for Dortmund, as the newly promoted team gets to play the opening match straight away.
Nico Stehle, Managing Director of the Table Tennis Bundesliga: “We are very much looking forward to the second season with Dyn. We are again facing very exciting matches and are convinced that Dyn's editorial concept will once again help to expand the reach of table tennis in Germany. At the same time, our aim is to jointly drive forward the activities in the Move Your Sport area. We have already benefited from the initiative in recent weeks and months. We are convinced that we will build on the strong foundation of the first season to further develop our close cooperation in the coming season.”
