Mattias Falck leads Werder Bremen to victory

SV Werder Bremen ended a drought of three defeats in a row in the Tischtennis Bundesliga (TTBL) and defeated TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen 3:1. Matchwinner was Mattias Falck, who remained in two games without losing a set.

The TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen went into the duel with SV Werder Bremen struggling. In the end, they had to admit defeat with 1:3 on the 20th matchday of the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL). Mattias Falck laid the foundation for the success with two unchallenged singles victories.

Alvaro Robles had little to oppose the doubles world champion from 2021. The situation was aggravated by the fact that the Spaniard was obviously ailing and had difficulty moving. Accordingly, he confessed in the first set break that he would have given up if Simon Gauzy had not lost the first singles. The Frenchman lost to Kirill Gerassimenko by a very narrow margin of 9:11 in the fifth set. With this deficit behind him, Robles faced Falck from Sweden, but the Swede clearly defeated Robles in three sets.

Samuel Kulczycki gives Ochsenhausen hope for a turnaround

The match between Falck and Simon Gauzy at the end of the day was similarly clear. The Frenchman also had little to oppose the pimple player and lost in three sets. In between the two wins of Falck, Samuel Kulczycki gave hope to the Ochsenhausen bench. Despite a 0:2 set deficit, he managed to win against Marcelo Aguirre. However, the Pole could no longer initiate the turnaround. Falck ended the match a little later and ensured the Bremen away win.

Ochsenhausen's coach Yong Fu was correspondingly unhappy after the match."We have our last home game today and a 1:3 defeat. That's a pity. But I understand that already. Our guys are totally tired." Simon Gauzy, he said, was not fit after traveling so much to WTT tournaments. Alvaro Robles was sick a few days ago and Can Akkuzu was injured, he said. "Actually, only Samuel (Kulczycki ed.) is fit. At the moment it is difficult. We are trying to keep our heads up. In the next game we will continue to fight."

The 21st matchday continues already on Tuesday. Bremen has already played its match of the 21st matchday against TTC Neu-Ulm and lost 1:3. For Ochsenhausen it continues only on Tuesday in one week. Then they travel to Post SV Mühlhausen.
