Luka Mladenovic to leave Grenzau after the season

TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau and Luka Mladenovic will part ways after the current season. The Luxembourg national player has decided not to renew his expiring contract in Brexbach Valley and to take on a new sporting challenge. Mladenovic moved from Mainz to Grenzau in the summer of 2024.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that I will not be extending my expiring contract in Grenzau. This is a very difficult decision for me and not a decision against the club. I have an offer from Pro A, the top French league, and would like to take on a new challenge after nine years in Germany,” explains Mladenovic.

The focus remains on the remaining games in the current TTBL season: “Whenever I'm there – in the box or on the bench – I will give my all to ensure that we don't end up in a relegation spot. I'm really looking forward to seeing the fans at the games in the hall,” said the 27-year-old. “Together we can do it!”

The decision has also been met with great respect at TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau. TTC manager Markus Ströher praises Mladenovic—both as an athlete and as a person. “Luka is a very important part of our team—as a player and as a person. He always brings energy, passion, and team spirit to the table and is fully committed to the team in every situation. We have great respect for that,” says Ströher. “We are glad that we are entering the decisive phase of the season with Luka and will do everything we can together to stay in the league. On behalf of the entire club, we wish him all the best for his future.”
