Liebherr Cup Final Four: Big anniversary in the ratiopharm arena
The clubs, players and certainly many fans are already tingling with excitement: one month from today, on January 4, 2025, the German Table Tennis Cup will be decided in the Liebherr Cup Final Four. All spectators can look forward to an event in a class of its own.
The date shortly after the turn of the year has become an institution in the German table tennis calendar. The Liebherr Cup Final Four celebrates an anniversary on January 4, with the event taking place for the tenth time in the ratiopharm arena Ulm/Neu-Ulm. In 2025, the four best teams of the cup season will once again battle for the first title of the year not far from the Danube, promising sport at the absolute top level. Starting at 11 a.m., TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and TTC OE Bad Homburg as well as SV Werder Bremen and 1. FC Saarbrücken TT will meet in the semi-finals on two tables in parallel. After a short break, the big showdown for the title will take place on the Center Court.
Ten years ago, the host city of the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) found the perfect location for the Final Four. “We consider it an absolute privilege to be able to host here for the tenth time,” says Nico Stehle, Managing Director of Tischtennis Bundesliga GmbH. “The ratiopharm arena is not just a venue, but a symbol of the close partnership between our sport, the region and numerous partners and supporters. The great support from the cities, regional companies and of course the fans makes the twin city of Ulm/Neu-Ulm a unique location for our event.”
Liebherr Cup Final Four: Tickets available from 14 euros
This is also reflected in the spectator numbers: In each of the last two years, around 5,000 fans flocked to the Liebherr Cup Final Four, giving the TTBL a sold-out ratiopharm arena. So if you want to be there this season when Hugo Calderano, Patrick Franziska and Co. fight for the title, you should hurry. Tickets cost €14 in the cheapest category and are available in our ticket store.
Last season, Borussia Düsseldorf secured the cup, adding another trophy to their impressive collection of titles. This season, after Düsseldorf's exit in the round of 16, a different team will be at the top. The Cup season to date has impressively demonstrated just how close the title race is - numerous favorites have already had to bow out during the course of the competition. Ochsenhausen are targeting their fifth cup win, while Saarbrücken would be aiming for number three after their triumphs in 2012 and 2022; meanwhile, Bremen and Bad Homburg are hoping for a major coup and the first cup win in the club's history.
So excitement is guaranteed on January 4.
