Hamburg serves up - 2.0: Bundesliga clash between Düsseldorf and Saarbrücken at Christmas
On the "3rd day of Christmas", Germany's table tennis capital will be on the Elbe: On December 27, 2023, 7 p.m., the reigning German table tennis team and record champion Borussia Düsseldorf will face the reigning Champions League winner 1. FC Saarbrücken in the Bundesliga. The venue will be the Sporthalle Hamburg, Krochmannstraße 55, 22297 Hamburg for the first time and organizer Borussia Düsseldorf expects more than 4,000 spectators.
"Many people in Hamburg are table tennis fans and we're looking forward to the match in December. For us players, it's the match of the year and a real highlight," says record European champion Timo Boll (Düsseldorf), who wants to enjoy the last few days of the year in the Hanseatic city with his family.
The semi-finals and finals of Hamburg's inclusive table tennis tournament will take place in the supporting program of the world-class spectacle "Hamburg tischt auf - 2.0" on 27.12.2023 (admission from 5 pm). Star pianist Joja Wendt, show artist Ralf Brathering and Hurricane Festival DJ Frank Eichstädt will also be serving up a Christmas entertainment program. The patron of "Hamburg tischt auf - 2.0" is Hamburg's sports senator Andy Grote.
