Grünwettersbach with brilliant home win against Mühlhausen
In the clash between ASV Grünwettersbach and Post SV Mühlhausen on Matchday 4 of the German Table Tennis League (TTBL), the host was able to score a convincing 3:0.
After being defeated twice by Post SV Mühlhausen last season, ASV Grünwettersbach wanted to take revenge and prove its home strength. That it became so clear in the end, however, was not expected...
Better nerves in the deciding set
Both the opening match Apolonia vs. Mengel and the third singles match Walther vs. Habesohn went the full distance of five sets. The hosts from Grünwettersbach had the better end in both matches. Apolonia won 3:2 (11:6, 7:11, 11:5, 7:11, 11:7) against Mengel and Walther won 3:2 (11:8, 8:11, 12:14, 11:8, 11:3) against Habesohn to finish the match.
Xi outstanding against Ionescu
In contrast, the match between Wang Xi and Ovidiu Ionescu was quite clear. The first set went narrowly with 12:10 to the ASV'ler, who used this first set win as a starting signal for a very sovereign 3:0 success against Ionescu. Xi won the next two sets clearly with 11:4.
So the team of ASV Grünwettersbach could celebrate with their fans the second victory in the second home match and pass Mühlhausen in the table, who had to accept their first defeat of the season with this match. As a result, Grünwettersbach is currently in third place in the table.
