Grünwettersbach is in the quarterfinals of the Europe Cup

Last weekend, ASV Grünwettersbach reached the knockout phase in the Europe Cup with wins against Top Spin Messina Euci (Italy) and Global Pharam Orlics 1924 Suchedniow (Poland).

In the group stage - together with the eliminated teams from the Champions League - the Karlsruhe team finished in second place and thus directly reached the knockout stage in their first participation in the Europe Cup.

Again in front of a home crowd, ASV Grünwettersbach faced Italian club Top Spin Messina Euci on Saturday. The ASV, who remained unbeaten in the "Stage 1" a month ago, defeated the Italians with 3:1, only Louis Price had to admit defeat to Matteo Mutti.

On Sunday, two matches were scheduled for the TTBL player. In the afternoon, ASV Grünwettersbach had to admit defeat for the first time in the current competition - they lost 2:3 against PTE Peca Kalo-Meh from Hungary. Thereby Kozul won both his singles again. Aliaz Godec and Timothy Falconnier could not contribute another point and also Ricardo Walther did not manage to beat David Szantosi in the decisive fifth game.

Things went better for the Karlsruhe team against Global Pharam Orlics 1924 Suchedniów from Poland. The course of the match was the same: Deni Kozul won both his singles again and the youngsters of ASV had to admit defeat. But in the decisive fifth game Ricardo Walther won this time and brought the German club the winning point. Because the competition played along, ASV finished Group A behind the Poles and is one of eight teams in the quarterfinals. The draw follows.
