Final Push in Nuremberg: 20 Percent Off All Tickets for the Leapmotor Cup Grand Opening
Just over a week to go until the big kickoff of the German Table Tennis Cup: On August 29 and 30, 2026, 16 teams will gather at the Kia Metropol Arena in Nuremberg for the Leapmotor Cup Grand Opening. Twelve matches over two days, all in one place. If you’ve been hesitating so far, now’s the perfect time: All tickets are 20 percent off.
The countdown to the Leapmotor Cup Grand Opening is in its final stretch. In just a few days, the Kia Metropol Arena will kick off a format unlike anything seen before: The round of 16 and quarterfinals of the German Table Tennis Cup, all packed into a single weekend at one central location. All twelve teams from the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) and the four qualifiers from the Cup’s preliminary round will battle it out in a single-elimination format for the four spots in the Liebherr Cup Final4—and thus for the chance to compete for the season’s first title this winter.
For all fans, this means: On August 29 and 30, you’ll have the chance to see all the stars up close. From a sporting perspective, everything is set for an event of the highest caliber. The Leapmotor Cup Grand Opening will feature, among others, Olympic champions Fan Zhendong and Dang Qiu (both of Borussia Düsseldorf), Hugo Calderano and Patrick Franziska (both 1. FC Saarbrücken TT), Dimitrij Ovtcharov (TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell), and Shunsuke Togami (TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen), as well as numerous other top stars. Anyone who wants to see the TTBL elite live will get to see them all in one place here.
Nonstop Table Tennis: 16 Teams, 12 Matches, 2 Days
And it all takes place over two full days: On Saturday, the round of 16 begins, with matches played in two parallel sessions starting at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., each on four tables. Nonstop table tennis at the highest level is thus guaranteed. On Sunday, the quarterfinals will follow, also taking place in two sessions starting at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
For anyone who’s still on the fence, here’s one last incentive: All tickets are now 20 percent off. The last-minute discount applies to all categories and all available tickets—for Saturday (round of 16), Sunday (quarterfinals), and the combo ticket. In the lowest-priced category, the weekend ticket is now available for as little as 26 euros. Orders specifying specific seats can be placed at the official TTBL ticket shop, by phone at 0761 888499 99, and at all known advance ticket sales locations. The discount is displayed directly in the ticket shop when selecting tickets.
