Europe Cup: TTC Neu-Ulm confidently reaches round three

The TTC Neu-Ulm has also mastered the second round of the Europe Cup. In Group B, the current fourth-placed team in the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) secured the group victory.

TTC Neu-Ulm has a full schedule at the moment: while one half of the team was playing in the WTT Champions Tournament in Macau, the other half was fighting for a place in the third round of the Europe Cup. And with success: The team from the Tischtennis Bundesliga (TTBL) only had to give up one single match in three matches and in the end won first place in Group B in a commanding fashion. Neu-Ulm had already completed Stage 1 undefeated in September.

Only against Asisa Borges Vall (Spain) it became a bit more exciting, in the end Neu-Ulm won 3:1 this match as well. At the reunion with Viktor Brodd, who had played for the TTC in the 2019/20 season, Vladimir Sidorenko became the match winner with wins against Marc Duran and Brodd. Maksim Grebnev also won against Brodd, only Lev Katsman was defeated 1:3 by Alberto Lillo. The two previous matches both ended 3:0: Sidorenko, Grebnev and Katsman won outright against TTC Ostrava 2016 (Czech Republic), whom the first Neu-Ulm team had already defeated in the Champions League; Grebnev, Katsman and Nikita Artemenko also prevailed against Leka Enea Marpex (Spain).
