- Liebherr TTBL final on June 30 live on Dyn
- Top players fight for German championship title in Frankfurt's Süwag ARENA
- On-air team with Anett Sattler, Dennis Heinemann, Richard Prause in top line-up
The end of the Bundesliga table tennis season will be exciting once again on Sunday (June 30): the Liebherr TTBL final at Dyn will be the highlight at the end of an eventful table tennis season. The two top German clubs 1. FC Saarbrücken TT and Borussia Düsseldorf will meet in Frankfurt's Süwag Energie ARENA. The two teams will play for the last title of the season in a "best of five" format from 13:00. Dyn will begin broadcasting half an hour before the start of the match. Top presenter Anett Sattler will accompany the fans through the final day. She will talk to players, coaches and officials before and between the individual matches and ask their opinions on the final and other topics from the world of table tennis. She will be supported by Dyn expert Dennis Heinemann and DTTB sports director Richard Prause as commentator duo.
Top international players gathered together
Four of the 25 best players in the world are taking part in the tournament final. The German national player Dang Qiu (10th place) and the Swedish top player Anton Källberg (26th place) are taking part from Düsseldorf. Saarbrücken is sending Darko Jorgic (ranked 19th), the second most successful player of the season, and the top German player Patrick Franziska (ranked 9th) to the competition. Franziska is currently in top form, is the highest-ranked German in the world rankings and "TTBL Player of the Month May". Borussia's top-class line-up is completed by Timo Boll (ranked 23rd). The table tennis legend recently announced that he will not be playing any more matches at international level after the Olympic Games in Paris.
Close match expected
1.FC Saarbrücken TT and Borussia Düsseldorf will face each other for the fifth time this season. Düsseldorf won the Liebherr Cup final in January, while Saarbrücken defended its Champions League title from the previous year at Easter. This means that the collection of titles between the two teams is evenly balanced this season. In the main round, Saarbrücken finished eight points ahead of Borussia. Franziska's team would like to take revenge for their previous defeats in the final and challenge the German record champions for their 34th title. It would be Saarbrücken's second title win.
