Düsseldorf continues impressive win streak

The record champion is unstoppable. Even TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell is not a serious hurdle for Borussia Düsseldorf in the German Table Tennis League (TTBL). The Düsseldorfers played their home match at their partner club in Döbeln (Saxony).

Borussia Düsseldorf continues to go from victory to victory in the German Table Tennis League (TTBL). TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell could not really pose a threat to the Rhinelanders. For Düsseldorf, it was the seventh 3:0 win in the eighth match of the season, while Fulda remains stuck in the bottom of the table.

Anton Källberg made the start. He won against Frenchman Alexandre Cassin and put Borussia in the lead. However, he found it unusually difficult. Källberg, now unbeaten in seven matches, needed five sets to beat Cassin.

Qiu beats Aruna in a quick-fire match

Dang Qiu made it clearer afterwards. Quadri Aruna had little to offer the reigning European singles champion. The German won clearly in three sets and extended his team's lead. The final point was set by Timo Boll in what was ultimately a one-sided match. In the generation duel he won against Fan Bo Meng. Meng was able to equalize Boll's 1st advance, but Boll then won the 3rd and 4th sets. In the 4th set, he 1st had to fend off set points from Meng before he was able to use his match point.

Head coach Danny Heister was satisfied: "I am happy that we were able to win the match. Fulda played much stronger today than last time in the cup and really challenged us. A key to the victory was the 1st match, in which Anton showed a super performance."

Borussia Düsseldorf continues next Sunday with the top match against Saarbrücken. Fulda already receives Bad Königshofen on Saturday.
