Dates, match-ups, tickets: all the info on the TTBL play-offs

In an eventful main round showdown, the last two participants in this year's Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) play-offs have been determined. In the semi-finals, Borussia Düsseldorf and TSV Bad Königshofen as well as TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and 1. FC Saarbrücken TT will battle it out for a place in the Liebherr TTBL final. The dates of the semi-final matches have now also been set.

The last matchday of the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) was a dramatic one: Three teams fought for two tickets for the play-offs, in the end 1. FC Saarbrücken TT and TSV Bad Königshofen were allowed to cheer. Despite the defeat against FCS, the team from Lower Franconia finished the main round in fourth place, as TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell suffered a 2:3 defeat at Post SV Mühlhausen in the parallel match. This is the second time that Bad Königshofen has reached the semi-finals and, as in the previous year, they will face Borussia Düsseldorf. Last year, TSV won 3:1, but lost the subsequent duels in Düsseldorf 0:3 - in the end, Borussia secured the title in the Liebherr TTBL final.

The first match this year will once again take place in Bad Königshofen on April 11 at 7 pm. Match number two will take place on April 27 at 1 p.m. at the ARAG CenterCourt in Düsseldorf. If both teams then win one match each, the third duel will take place on May 1 at 3 p.m., once again in Düsseldorf.

New edition of the Liebherr Cup final between Ochsenhausen and Saarbrücken

The other participant in the Liebherr TTBL final will be determined between TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and 1 FC Saarbrücken TT. The two opponents already faced each other in the Liebherr Cup final in January, with Ochsenhausen coming out on top 3:1. The TTF narrowly missed out on first place on the last main round matchday, while FCS made it to the semi-finals at the last minute. The two teams had already duelled for a place in the final in 2023, with the Saarland side coming out on top 3:1, 2:3 and 3:1.

The first clash between Ochsenhausen and Saarbrücken will take place on April 10 at 6 p.m. in the Dr. Hans Liebherr Halle in Ochsenhausen. The second match will continue on April 27 at 4 p.m. in Saarbrücken. The possible third match would again take place in Ochsenhausen on April 30 at 7 pm. Tickets for all play-off matches can be purchased from the respective home club.
