Cup round of sixteen scheduled: Decisions between September 17 and 24

Which teams will take the next step towards the Final Four tournament in the German Table Tennis Cup? In the round of 16 between September 17 and 24, 16 teams will fight for a place in the next round.

Kicking off the round of 16 will be 1. FC Köln and Post SV Mühlhausen. On September 17, last year's fourth-place team in the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) will play in the cathedral city starting at 2 p.m. and has set its sights high. In the previous season, Mühlhausen made it all the way to the semifinals in the German Table Tennis Cup. Participation in the Final Four tournament is also the goal of the Thuringians this year. The record cup winner will also play a second division team on September 22: Borussia Düsseldorf hosts TV 1879 Hilpoltstein the following Thursday, September 22. "For us, it is the match of the year," says TV department head Ulrich Eckert before the duel with Timo Boll and Co. "It is something very special to play against Düsseldorf. We expect a full hall and are already full of anticipation."

Five more quarterfinal tickets will be awarded the following day. On Friday, September 23, the duels between SV Werder Bremen and TTC Neu-Ulm, TTC indeland Jülich and TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau, 1. FC Saarbrücken TT and TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt, TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and TSV Bad Königshofen as well as TTC Fortuna Passau and TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell will each take place from 7 p.m. onwards. Finally, the eighth and last participant in the quarterfinals will be determined the following Saturday, September 24, starting at 7 p.m. between ASV Grünwettersbach and 1. FSV Mainz 05.
