Champions League: finals on March 31 and April 3

Borussia Düsseldorf and 1. FC Saarbrücken will contest the 2022/23 Champions League final. The two finals have now been scheduled and will take place on Friday, March 31 (7 p.m.) in Saarbrücken and Monday, April 3 (7 p.m.) in Düsseldorf. Advance ticket sales begin today.

After Borussia Düsseldorf and 1. FC Saarbrücken prevailed in the Champions League semifinals against their TTBL colleagues from TTC Neu-Ulm and Post SV Mühlhausen, they will meet in a final, as they have done several times in previous years. Last year, 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT decided the duel against Borussia Düsseldorf in the cup final in its favor. The latter, however, managed to win the Champions League final against the Saarlanders in 2020/21. One thing is certain: it will definitely be an exciting final!

Manager Andreas Preuß (Borussia Düsseldorf) knows: "Every success in the Champions League was preceded by a hot duel, and we're in for two competitive and high-class games again. Saarbrücken is an absolute top team that wants to crown its season with victory just like we do. We are already full of anticipation for the next table tennis treat.

Team manager Nicolas Barrois (1st FC Saarbrücken-TT): Of course we know Borussia quite well. We have had several final battles in the last 5-10 years...often unfortunately with a better outcome for the Düsseldorfers. But we could always annoy them and accordingly we are very motivated to win the final. We want to win titles and the Champions League title in particular is still missing. In any case, it will be absolute table tennis highlight and we expect that the hall will be packed. In 2019, we had just under 1400 spectators in the play-offs against Düsseldorf.
