BVB signs Olympic silver medalist Karlsson

Prominent new signing for Bundesliga table tennis club Borussia Dortmund: Swedish Olympic silver medalist Kristian Karlsson (33) will join the club next season from league rivals TTC OE Bad Homburg. The left-hander has signed a one-year contract.
Karlsson knows his way around the West: From 2016 to 2022, he enjoyed his most successful time in club table tennis at Borussia Düsseldorf, becoming German champion four times and winning the cup and Champions League three times each.
Karlsson won the silver medal with his Swedish team at the Olympic Games in Paris last summer and also became world doubles champion alongside Werder Bremen's Matthias Falck in 2021.
Karlsson's greatest individual successes at international level are two bronze medals at the European Championships in 2018 and 2022.
Dortmund are currently two points ahead of Bad Homburg in the Bundesliga table, with both clubs still under threat of relegation.
