Bundesliga return of former European champion Freitas

Former top 10 player Marcos Freitas is returning to the German Table Tennis League (TTBL). 14 years after leaving TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, the Portuguese Olympic bronze medalist from Paris 2024 has signed a contract for the new season with Champions League participant Post SV Mühlhausen.
Freitas will be playing for a German club for the fifth time with the Thuringians. In addition to Ochsenhausen, the former team and double European champion in the TTBL has also played twice for former European Cup winners TTC Jülich and for record champions Borussia Düsseldorf, with whom Freitas won the Champions League and the championship in 2009.
In Mühlhausen, the 36-year-old is the third and final addition for the upcoming season. Before the left-hander, the club of former German champion Steffen Mengel had brought in Taiwan's Liao Cheng-Ting, who is also ranked in the top 75, and national player Kay Stumper.
