Borussia Düsseldorf extends contract with successful coach Danny Heister
Record table tennis champions Borussia Düsseldorf have extended their contract with successful coach Danny Heister ahead of schedule. As the Rhineland club announced on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the 53-year-old Dutchman will remain with Borussia until June 30, 2027. His previous contract would have expired at the end of the season.
“I am very happy to continue working for Borussia Düsseldorf, the best club in the world,” said Heister: “I still enjoy training with the guys. It's still a lot of work, but I'm really looking forward to it.”
Heister has been coaching at Borussia since 2010 and has led the club, which had to cope with the retirement of icon Timo Boll in the summer, to 24 national and international titles to date. These include three Champions League triumphs, one ETTU Cup victory, eleven German championships, and nine cup wins.
