Bogdan Pugna becomes new head coach of TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen
After TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen announced that they would part ways with current Head Coach Yong Fu at the end of the season, they can now officially present a successor. Bogdan Pugna will take over the reins and be responsible for the Bundesliga team from the new season and 01.07.2024.
The TTF therefore opted for an internal solution, as Pugna has already been working as an expert coach at the Liebherr Masters College since 2019 and has already accompanied the professional team this year. The 32-year-old Romanian previously worked as a coach at the FFTT Regional Center in Nantes. During his stays in the European table tennis countries of Romania, France and Germany, he has been involved in the development of young up-and-coming players and seasoned professionals since 2011 and has thus been able to continuously expand his range of knowledge as a coach.
TTF will now be Pugna's first station as the sole head coach of a team, but President Kristijan Pejinovic is confident that he can take this step: "We have known each other for almost 5 years now. He works in a modern, innovative way and adapts to our and the new structures of table tennis. He is the perfect coach for us and exactly what we need for the new sporting direction. Bogdan knows the club and the DNA of TTF very well. We wish him all the best and every success in his future tasks and challenges."
Bogdan Pugna himself is delighted with the trust placed in him: "I am very proud to be the new head coach of TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, a historic team in our sport. Together with the players, we will constantly work on reaching our maximum performance in order to challenge the strong opponents in the league and be able to hold our own against them. I am also pleased that this process is taking place in a region and environment in which human values also play a major role, which are also very important to me. I hope that we can ignite new emotions through our games and then transfer them to our fans and spectators."
