Bad Königshofen takes two points in Mainz

In the second matchday of the new season, TSV Bad Königshofen wins against 1. FSV Mainz 05 with a clear 3:0 and thus takes home the first two points.

After the guests from Bad Königshofen had lost twice to 1. FSV Mainz 05 last season, they still had a score to settle with the Mainzers and naturally wanted to take two points home this time so as not to start the new season with two defeats. The hosts from Mainz had to do without the injured Yongyin Li and Luka Mladenovic. As on the first match day, Kilian Ort was not available for the guests.

Martin Allegro with a redeeming victory

In the first match of the day, Rares Sipos and Martin Allegro faced each other. After the first two sets, the score was 2:0 for the newcomer from Mainz and everything looked as if Martin Allegro would not leave the table as a winner in this match. But after a strong comeback, the player from Bad Königshöfer managed to win the fifth set. Thus he got a very important victory for himself, after he fell short of his expectations in the league last season, but internationally he could show again and again what he is actually able to do.

Close sets go to TSV

In the following second singles match, the spectators could expect an equally open match. Carlo Rossi first found his way into the match and won the first set. But then Filip Zeljko also got into the match, won the second set and had his nose a bit further in front in sets three and four with 12:10 each.

The last match was relatively clear. With the injured Yongyin Li and the missing Luka Mladenovic, Johannes Willeke served for the first time in the TTBL for the Mainz team, so the veteran of the guests went to the table as the favorite and kept the upper hand with a sovereign 3:0. Bastian Steger thus ended the match and was able to clinch the first victory of the season with his Königshöfer.

Voice to the match:

Carlo Rossi (player 1st FSV Mainz 05): "Of course, with two defeats now we didn't have the best start of the season, but we could show even without Luka Mladenovic and without our No. 1 Yongyin Li that we could keep up well in the individual matches."
