Bad Königshofen stays on top
TSV Bad Königshofen continues to have its sights firmly set on the play-off places: On Matchday 12 of the German Table Tennis League (TTBL), the team from Lower Franconia defeated TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell 3-0 and is now level on points with fourth-placed Post SV Mühlhausen.
Fulda's coach, Qing Yu Meng, unceremoniously put himself in the lineup in Bad Königshofen, but after giving away a 7:1 lead in the first set against Bastian Steger, he could not do much more. Alexandre Cassin suffered a similar fate in the second singles match, also failing to win a set against Kilian Ort. Fan Bo Meng did a little better, winning one set against Filip Zeljko.
On to Tuesday
Due to the Liebherr Pokal final, the other matches of the 12th matchday in the TTBL will not take place until the beginning of next week. On Tuesday, January 10, TTC Neu-Ulm will meet 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT and promoted team 1. FSV Mainz 05 will receive TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen. On Wednesday, January 11, league leader Borussia Düsseldorf will host SV Werder Bremen.
