Bad Königshofen defeats Ochsenhausen despite strong Togami

After a convincing start to the season against Post SV Mühlhausen, TSV Bad Königshofen faced TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen on the second matchday - again at home. And as on the first matchday, TSV was able to keep the points in its own hall and thus catch up with Fulda, Bremen and Bergneustadt.

As against Fulda, TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen were not yet able to call on their full squad, so they tried to make life difficult for TSV with the line-up of Togami, Abiodun and Pugna.

Veteran Ueda vs. talent Abiodun

The 32-year-old Japanese player from TSV faced the 16-year-old newcomer from TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, Abiodun, in the first match. After trailing 1:2 in the set, Ueda was able to turn the match around and win the deciding set 11:8. This first point was to be the decisive one in the end.

Despite a strong performance from Togami, who did not concede a set against either Zeljko or his compatriot Ueda and won both his singles matches 3:0, the hosts went into the final doubles match as favorites. Steger had previously won 3-0 against Pugna.

In the final double, Allegro/Steger controlled the match and left nothing to chance with a 3-0 win in front of their own fans. “Of course we knew that Ochsenhausen were short of substitutes, but we also knew that Togami could score two points for them, as it turned out. That's why it was so important for us to win the first single,” said Tomasz Kasica (TSV Bad Königshofen) after the match.

On Wednesday, September 4, TSV Bad Königshofen will once again face Post SV Mühlhausen - this time in the round of 16 of the cup competition.
