Bad Königshofen decides contested "basement duel" in its favor

At the end of the 5th match day of the Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL), TSV Bad Königshofen made a furious comeback. In front of their home crowd, the team from Lower Franconia defeated TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau 3:2.

After the first two singles TSV Bad Königshofen was already trailing 0:2. However, as in the only win so far this season in the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) against ASV Grünwettersbach, where the Lower Franconians also fell behind 0:2, they turned the match around to win 3:2.

The turnaround was brought by Kilian Ort, who won the duel against Patrick Baum 3:0 at position three. Before that, Maciej Kubik (3:0 against Filip Zeljko) and Yi-Hsin Feng (3:2 against Martin Allegro) won the points for Grenzau.

Zeljko decides five-set thriller for Bad Königshofen

However, the decision in favor of Bad Königshofen was made by Filip Zeljko against Yi-Hsin Feng. In the fifth set, Zeljko first fended off a match point from Feng before converting the third match point of his own, a forehand rally worth seeing, and leading his team onto the winning track. In the final doubles match, Kilian Ort and Martin Allegro were carried along by the euphoria of the spectators and won in three sets.

Already on Friday it goes on for the TSV Bad Königshofen. They travel to the third in the table, the 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT, on the 6th matchday. Only on Sunday, TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau receives the last team in the table, TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell.
