3:2 away win for Bad Königshofen
With a 3:2 away win TSV Bad Königshofen can still secure the victory.
In the first match of the 15th matchday, SV Werder Bremen welcomed TSV Bad Königshofen. Twice SV Werder Bremen took the lead, but twice TSV Bad Königshofen, in the person of Bastian Steger, managed to equalize. Steger, who had been slightly injured against Borussia Düsseldorf and even had to withdraw from his singles match against Timo Boll, regained his positive form thanks to a strong mental performance, in which he has often been a guarantor of points for the Königshofen team.
So the final doubles match had to decide the match once again. On the Bremen side, the new combination Mattias Falck/Cristian Pletea was set up, while on the Königshofen side Kilian Ort combined with Martin Allegro. The Bremen team could still equalize in sets with 1:1, but the Königshofen team secured the overall victory with a 3:1 success in the doubles match
Steger back to old strength
Bastian Steger won both his singles, one with 3:0 in sets against Marcelo Aguirre, and in the top match against Kirill Gerassimenko over the full distance of five sets, in which Steger had to turn around a 0:2 set deficit. Furthermore, the top player of the table tennis Bundesliga, the Swede Mattias Falck, could win his singles against the recently strong Kilian Ort with 3:1, while Gerassimenko in the starting singles with 3:1 against Filip Zeljko won an expected point for SV Werder. The doubles had to decide another time about victory or defeat, and this time the luck was on the side of the away team with 3:1 in sets.
The other matches of the 15th matchday will take place on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. On Sunday there will be three matches, on Monday and on Wednesday one match each. All matches will be broadcast live on Spontent's channels on Twitch.
