1. FC Saarbrücken-TT goes into the winter break as second in the standings

For 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT, the last match of the preliminary round in the German Table Tennis League (TTBL) was a successful end to a successful week of matches. ASV Grünwettersbach, narrowly defeated 2:3 by TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell the previous week, showed a strong performance despite the ongoing personnel worries.

Cedric Nuytinck had the better start in the match between 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT and ASV Grünwettersbach in the direct duel with Ryota Shimmyo. With 3:1 sets he brought the 1. FC Saarbrücken Table Tennis into the lead. Point guarantor Darko Jorgic had little trouble in the following match against Deni Kozul. Only in the 1st set Kozul caught the Vice European Champion on the wrong foot. Jorgic won the other sets clearly (8:11, 11:4, 11:4, 11:7) and thus extended his singles record to 10:1. Kozul, on the other hand, is still waiting for his 1st win of the current TTBL season.

Walther sets the connecting point for ASV

Ricardo Walther was happy about the honorary point for Grünwettersbach: The 31-year-old won 3:2 (7:11, 4:11, 11:8, 11:8, 7:11) against Tomas Polansky in the 3rd singles match. However, more was not in it for the guests, because the 4th singles between Cedric Nuytinck and Deni Kozul went relatively clearly to the hosts (11:6, 11:9, 11:6), who could therefore celebrate the 8th victory from eleven games. The 1st FC Saarbrücken-TT thus goes into the winter break in second place in the table. Grünwettersbach will spend the winter in a safe midfield position.
